Teigen recommitted to her sobriety in December 2020 after receiving the book Quit Like a Woman for her 35th birthday, but admitted she had a few “wine hiccups” along the way.
Chrissy Teigen may constantly say that she has no idea what she’s doing on her sober journey, or if she’ll stay sober along the way, but she’s clearly still committed and even marking milestones.
On Wednesday, the cookbook author took to her Instagram page and celebrated her latest acquisition with a series of stunning balcony photos in honor of six straight months of sobriety.

Teigen originally recommitted her sobriety — she tried once in 2017 but eventually slipped back into drinking — in December 2020 after receiving Holly Whitaker’s book, Quit Like a Woman, for her 35th birthday.

The reason she’s not celebrating being sober for a year or more is because she admitted to a few “wine hiccups” during those first few months. It also shows how seriously she takes this and is now honoring her true six month sober period.
“6 months no alcohol!” She touted alongside seven in her caption – couldn’t narrow it down to six for symmetry? — Photos. “Honestly it sucks to say that because while I never feel like it now, time hasn’t exactly flown by haha.”
“I probably won’t look forward to a bigger milestone like at least 5 years, and sometimes I don’t even know if I’ll absolutely never drink again?” She also repeated a sentiment she expressed after 50 days.
“Honestly, I have no idea what I’m doing, but I do know a few things: I have endless energy now, a lot less anxiety (no more benzos!) and I’m *happier* and more present than I’ve ever been,” she continued . “It’s pretty cool. I look forward to resetting my whole body after a year and then reevaluating to see my new hopes and desires for the future!

Teigen also celebrated 100 days of sobriety, a mark that came in October 2021 when she was raked over the coals for past bullying. Rather than allowing that to be a trigger, the incident seems to have helped her stay engaged.
“I feel like I’ve done the work and I hope these people can forgive and welcome the fact that they’ve hopefully seen me get better,” Teigen wrote in honor of this milestone in her life.
“So proud of you my love,” Teigen’s husband, John Legend, commented on her post, while also receiving love from some of her other famous friends.
Rachel Zoe shared a series of clapping emojis, while Katy Perry commented: “Beautiful ❤️” and Brooklyn Decker told her she was “tough as nails my friend ❤️”.
Octavia Spencer wrote a wonderfully supportive comment. “6 months is something to celebrate,” she noted. “You caught a bump in the road and changed your tires. Now you’re enjoying the ride. That’s something to celebrate. ❤️”
