It looks like Ben Affleck isn’t the only one getting a frustrating media turnaround after his candid two-hour interview with Howard Stern. Just days after defending himself against the media perspective of this interview, Jennifer Lopez dismisses claims that she was “pissed” about what he said.
Using that word, Page Six reported that Lopez is frustrated because “she is being drawn into this because she is with him”. But in a story posted by People Saturday night, J.Lo said, “This story just isn’t true. I don’t feel that way.”

Instead of being “angry” with Affleck, with whom she rekindled a romantic relationship, Lopez said: “I couldn’t show Ben any more respect as a father, co-parent and person.”
Lopez has developed a relationship with Affleck’s children with Garner, 16-year-old Violet, 12-year-old Seraphina and 9-year-old Samuel, as well as Garner himself.
The out-of-context quote from Affleck’s extensive discussion with Stern came when he started talking about his alcoholism and said he fell for it in part because he felt trapped. It was immediately reported that he blamed Garner for feeling trapped in his marriage and family and that he drank afterwards.

“One reason I started drinking was because I was trapped,” Affleck said in his interview with the star. “I was like, ‘I can’t walk because of my kids, but I’m not happy, what should I do?’ And what I did was drink a bottle of scotch and fall asleep on the couch, which didn’t work out. “
He said that he and Garner were trying to make their marriage work but also felt that they “didn’t want this to be the model our children see of marriage”.
Affleck himself played on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” shortly after, to set the record right and tell Kimmel that he would never want his kids to think he was out there to badmouth their mother.

“You literally took the conversation I had for two hours and made it seem like I was saying the exact opposite of what I said,” Affleck said of the media. “I’d go ahead and say how much we respect and care for each other and our children and put them first and go through our things.”
“And they said I blamed my ex-wife for my alcoholism and that I was ‘trapped’ and just turned out to be the worst, most insensitive, stupid, horrible guy,” he continued.
For her part, one way or another, Garner has not officially commented on what might be best, as it could save her from coming out later and correcting the record.
