Obi-Wan Kenobi Fan Poster Imagines a Clone Wars Flashback with Anakin

[ad_1]

A new fan poster for Obi-Wan Kenobi imagines what a Clone Wars flashback sequence could look like with Anakin Skywalker. While Obi-Wan has been part of the Star Wars franchise since the beginning, Ewan McGregor’s portrayal in George Lucas’ prequel trilogy really turned the Jedi into a fan-favorite character. Since Kenobi is one of the most well-known and beloved characters from the prequels, it came as no surprise when Disney announced they were making an Obi-Wan Kenobi TV show for Disney+.

The first Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer has yet to be released, but Disney has revealed enough information about the series to get fans excited. McGregor is, of course, returning as his iconic character, and Hayden Christensen is also coming back as Darth Vader. Obi-Wan’s conflict with Darth Vader was described as “the rematch of the century” by Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy, and the series is set 10 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III- Revenge of the Sith. Leia and Bail Organa are also reportedly going to appear in Obi-Wan Kenobi, but aside from these details, the story for the next Star Wars show is largely a mystery.

As fans patiently wait for the show’s first trailer, guiillgfx has created a new fan poster for Obi-Wan Kenobi. The poster features Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker before he becomes Darth Vader fighting B1 and B2 Battle Droids. The artist was inspired by a line in Revenge of the Sith when Obi-Wan and Anakin talk about an unseen battle on Cato Neimoidia. Guiilgfx’s original post can be seen below:

The first official look at Obi-Wan Kenobi came at last year’s Disney+ Day, which revealed concept art for the series. Images of Obi-Wan riding an eopie, Darth Vader looking at a hologram, and an Inquisitor walking off a ship with stormtroopers were all released, as well as a stunning look at the battle between Obi-Wan and his former apprentice. Obi-Wan’s teaser poster was also unveiled at the beginning of the month, showing the titular character walking through the sands of Tatooine holding what looks to be Anakin’s lightsaber. Obi-Wan Kenobi is confirmed to hit Disney+ in May, so the studio will no doubt start to ramp up its marketing in the coming months.

With Disney bringing back Christensen for Obi-Wan Kenobi, it seems likely that the show will feature at least one flashback of Anakin before he became Darth Vader. Showing flashbacks from the Clone Wars would be a natural story beat considering Obi-Wan and Anakin were key fighters in the battle against the Separatists. Flashbacks would also allow Obi-Wan Kenobi to feature Ahsoka Tano, who was Anakin’s padawan in Clone Wars. Despite being a huge character in the animated series, Ahsoka was noticeably absent from the live-action side of Star Wars until her appearance in The Mandalorian season 2. While this is all speculation about what could happen in Obi-Wan Kenobi, this poster imagines an interesting storyline that Disney could easily bring to viewers’ screens.
